Chronic Lyme Disease is probably one of the most misunderstood diseases of the 21st century. People are frantically trying to find a doctor who will listen to them, test them and treat them. Most of the conventional medical community refuses to acknowledge chronic Lyme Disease because there is no real or progressive forms of Lyme testing out there. If a medical doctors can't see it, they can't treat it, so they don't acknowledge it. Naturopaths are often the last resort for those who cannot get a conclusive diagnosis for Lyme or for those who've been diagnosed with Lyme, but are just not getting better with standar...

This won't be my most well received blog post, since I am going to lay down some hard truths about chronic Lyme that some may not want to hear, but it needs to be said: long term use of antibiotics just does not heal chronic Lyme.

The reasons are 1) the well-developed trend of antibiotic resistance 2) antibiotic don't address the real cause of chronic Lyme. Antibiotics have saved many lives and if we want them to keep doing so we need to use them wisely. Being on antibiotics for months and or years for Lyme is not using them wisely.  I need to point out that I certainly advocate the use of antibiotics for new /recent Lyme infections becaus...

What is adrenal fatigue? Adrenal gland fatigue is exactly what the name implies: your adrenal glands are tired, and unable to keep up with the daily demands that are required of them. They are feeling the same way you do!

Your adrenal glands produce several different hormones that are necessary for the production and regulation of thyroid hormones and sex hormones (estrogen/progesterone/testosterone). They also produce the hormones that influence your ability to:

  • deal with stress

  • metabolize fat

  • and regulate blood sugar.

When the demand on your adrenal system is greater than what they can produce, nothing gets the attention it...

What is Castor Oil?

Castor Oil is a very pale yellow liquid that is extracted from castor seeds (Ricinus Communis). It is an anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant oil which has been used for centuries for its therapeutic and medicinal benefits. It is believed that most of castor oil's benefits are derived from its high concentration of unsaturated fatty acids. Although it has a strong and rather unpleasant taste, castor oil is used in cosmetics, soaps, textiles, medicines, massage oils and many other everyday products.

My Healing Story

I had been sick on and off for many years with no real diagnoses. My first symptoms appeared in 1995 and at that time, I simply thought I had the flu. Well that "flu" lasted 3 week and I was not getting better so I ended up in the ER where doctors ran many tests but just could not figure out the reason

I was getting sick. These flu-like episodes lasted on and off for the next year and I thought "Maybe if I just change my diet and start to exercise, I would feel better".  Well I did both and I started to feel better, but I was still getting the "flu" every few months.

Then after 12 years of seeing many doctors...

We all experience anxiety, it's part of being human. Some of us experience anxiety as panic attacks, we may even struggle to get out of bed (been there) or leave the house. Some of us experience anxiety as a shadow that follows us around all day. We feel like we are white-knuckling through life, surviving rather than thriving. Everything has a scary spin to it - staff meetings at work, lunch with friends, or taking a trip. Some of us experience anxiety more subtly. It is only obvious during stressful times or big changes: final exams, sick parents, divorce, a new job, or moving.  We all experience anxiety, but if you feel weighted down or...
